The Principality of Monaco
If our tour guide, Patrick, had not told us we were looking for the grave marker with the name “Gratia Patricia” I would still be looking for “Grace Kelly” on the grave marker.
I got a nice workout getting to the top where this castle is located. The steep walking we did, I’m sure I built up my quad muscles getting up to this fortress. Monaco is not a big place area wise. After viewing the castle area, watching the changing of the guard, and viewing the grave marker where the American Princess is resting (Grace Kelly) we were free to roam the city and take the train back on our own. I took snap shots from the perch of the castle area.
We did not visit Monaco's Museum Oceanographic which is where the famous sea explorer, Jacques Cousteau was the director for 31-years. I hear it's pretty interesting on the inside.
Tonight was also the farewell dinner. We selected our menu for this dinner on Day 1 of the tour. Some had to be
reminded of what their choices were for the night. Patrick had this information. I'm always sad when it's time for the farewell dinner. You would have made a lot of friends, held a lot of conversations, and enjoyed the sites with your fellow tourist. I hope to see some of them on other tours.
my Tip: Try to use the washroom when you have the opportunity, when on tour. I waited too long to use the WC while in Monaco, when I found one I had to pay a donation of $1 euro, which is fine because this is for the upkeep of these public bathrooms. I believe I gave a $2 euro because I was in a big hurry.
