Villefranche-sur-Mer, Cap Ferrat and Group Dinner
Today was a tram and bus ride to Cap Ferrat and Villefranche-sur-Mer. Exciting! We took the tram a couple of stops and then caught a public bus to Cap Ferrat. We toured the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and the gardens of this
fabulous villa. Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild had the money to get the belle-époque right in her villa. She left no detail to chance. Eight types of gardens, rare jade collection, beautiful furniture, linens, chandeliers, impeccable detail, gorgeous views of the Cap Ferrat and the mediterranian sea.
While walking to Villefranche from the Rothschild Villa, we passed the Villa Nellcôte. This is the villa where the Rolling Stones worked on recordings for their album “Exile on Main St”.
The beach in Villefranche looked inviting. I plan to come back to Villefranche in the future. We were free to stay and have lunch in Villefranche or take the bus back to Nice. I took the bus back to Nice and had another pizza for lunch, I can't get enough of the pizza in Nice. By now I found a restaurant that made them so good.
By now my feet are burning!! I made a trip to the Pharmecie and explained to the clerk I needed something for my burning feet. She gave me a cream that had on the box “for burning feet”. I used this cream and elevated my feet, they felt good after this.
We had the second of our three team dinners tonight. This restaurant had an intimate feel with low lights.
my Tip: I bring only my 3.1.1 plastic bag in my carry-on. I do this so I can try products in other countries. I love the "Pharmacie" in France. Besides getting some hand and body lotions, I got something for the dark circles under the eyes and, of course, the burning feet. The Pharmacie is known by their green cross hanging outside the building.
Day 4/quatre: Antibes and the Picasso Museum
